A Town Board meeting of the Town of Marion, Wayne County, NY was held on Monday, August 11, 2025 in the Marion Court Room.
Supervisor Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm with a roll call done by Heidi Levan, Town Clerk/Clerk of the Board.

Supervisor Johnson asked everyone to stand and give the Pledge of Allegiance.

His commitment to maintaining town facilities and infrastructure has been invaluable, and his skilled trades work—especially his expert work at the Sewer Plant—has been a cornerstone of reliable operations and high standards.
Jeff’s hands-on approach, professionalism, and dedication reflect the very best of public service. His work ethic, knowledge, and can-do spirit have left a lasting legacy in the day-to-day life of our town and in the systems that serve our residents every day.

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board accepts the resignation of employment of Town Historian, Jennifer Hunter effective Sunday, July 27, 2025; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Principal Account Clerk.
Resolution #803-2025 Authorize Hiring Evolution Marketing for New Town of Marion website
On a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman

The following resolution was approved
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes the hiring of Evolution Marketing to design, construct and install the new Town of Marion.gov website; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Marion did send out RFP’s for the project and the Town Board reviewed said proposals; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Marion will sign a contract with Evolution for creating website $4,400, Cost of hosting annually $880 and training $120 per hour to be expensed from account
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Evolution Marketing, Town Clerk and Principal Account Clerk, Kathy Cauwels.
Resolution #804-2025 Authorize Town Board to send an RFP for Tree Removal at the Marion Cemetery
On a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman

The following resolution was approved.
WHEREAS, the Marion Town Board needs to have three trees removed at the Marion Cemetery; and
BE IT RESOLVED, the Town Board authorizes to send out an RFP to for tree work at the Marion Cemetery to be returned no later than August 29, 2025; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk
Resolution #805-2025 Authorize Hiring Part-time Cleaner
On a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilman Lonneville
This resolution was tabled.
WHEREAS, the Marion Town Board authorizes the hiring of _____________, as part-time cleaner for the Town of Marion.
BE IT RESOLVED, the Town Board authorizes the following accounts to be used for payroll, 16201.01.0.041 and 71101.01.0.041 at a rate of $15.50 per hour to clean the Town Hall, Town Court and Town Park and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk and _______________.
Resolution #806-2025 Payment of Claims
On a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman
ADOPTED: Ayes: 5 Cramer, Herman, Taber, Lonneville, Johnson

The following resolution was approved.
WHEREAS, the Marion Town Board has received and audited the following claims; now
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized to pay said claims upon receipt of the signed abstracts of audited claims from the Town Clerk.

Resolution #807-2025 Authorize Supervisor to sign Youth Grant
On a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman
ADOPTED: Ayes: 5 Cramer, Herman, Taber, Lonneville, Johnson
Nays: 0
The following resolution was approved.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes the Marion Town Supervisor to sign Wayne County Youth Sports and Education Funding grant; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the following helped to write the grant Tim Holahan, Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and Dr. Ellen Lloyd Marion School District Superintendent and;
BE IT RESOLVED, that the name used by the Marion Grant writers is titled ‘Challenge Accepted: Marion Edition; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Councilwoman Taber and Principal Account Clerk, Kathy Cauwels.
Additional Citizen Comments: Jeff Cragg spoke and asked if he could continue to drive the town truck until a decision was made as to where the truck will go. The Town Board stated that he could.
Executive Session: On a motion from Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Taber, the Town Board entered into execution session to discuss the employment history of a town personal. The executive session opened at 7:58pm and closed at 8:11pm
With no further business, on a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman, Supervisor Johnson closed the meeting at 8:11pm.
