A Town Board meeting of the Town of Marion, Wayne County, NY was held on Monday, July 14, 2025 in the Marion Court Room.

Supervisor Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm with a roll call done by Heidi Levan, Town Clerk/Clerk of the Board.

The following resolution was approved

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board hiring of Mural Mania to design, construct and install mural for the Marion Bicentennial; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Marion did send out RFP’s for the project and Mural Mania was the only vendor to submit a proposal; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the total cost of this project is $4,490 and will be expensed out of account #75104.01.0.237

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Marion Bicentennial Committee, Mural Mania and Principal Account Clerk, Kathy Cauwels.

 

Resolution #702-2025 Authorize Hiring xxxx for New Town of Marion website

 

On a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Taber

 

This resolution was tabled.

The Town Board asked to have new RFP’s sent out with a quick turn around.

 

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes the hiring of XXXXXXX to design, construct and install the new Town of Marion.gov website; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Marion did send out RFP’s for the project and the Town Board reviewed said proposals; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the total cost of this project is $xxxxxxxx and will be expensed out of account #xxxxxxxxxx

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the xxxxxxxx, Town Clerk and Principal Account Clerk, Kathy Cauwels.

 

Resolution #703-2025 Authorize Town Clerk to advertise for 2025/2026 Recreation Basketball Coordinator.

BE IT RESOLVED, the Marion Town Board authorizes the Town Clerk to advertise for the Recreation Youth Basketball Coordinator for the 2025/2026 winter season; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Basketball Coordinator will receive a stipend of $1,000.00 and will be expensed out of account # 73101.01.000.084 1000.00 and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the position will remain open until filled; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk.

 

 

Resolution #704-2025 Authorize an RFP be sent for Bicentennial Fireworks Display

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes the Town of Marion to send Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Fireworks Display for the Marion Bicentennial; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the RFP’s must be submitted by Monday, June 30th, 2025; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Marion Bicentennial Committee and Principal Account Clerk, Kathy Cauwels.

The following resolution was not approved

 

WHEREAS, the Marion Town Board is aware of the ever changing needs of the Town of Marion; and

 

WHEREAS, the Marion Town Board desires to keep an up to date growth plan for the Town of Marion; now

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes a committee to be formed strictly on a voluntary basis for two years and referred to as the Marion Comprehensive Planning Committee; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Comprehensive Planning Committee members are as follows:

Jennifer Hunter, Christian Dennis Faulkner, Theresa Kirk, Dan Brooks, Kevanesha Harrison, Steve Ruffell and Ellen Lloyd; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, the Marion Comprehensive Planning Committee has authority to appoint alternates or replacements off the registration list at any time throughout the term. The committee will appoint a Chairperson and Secretary; publish all open meetings to the public; and post meeting minutes to adhere to Open Meeting Laws.

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to each member of the Comprehensive Planning Committee and to Adrienne Compton, Clerk to the Zoning and Planning Boards.

 

 

Additional Citizen Comments:

 

Executive Session: :  On a motion from Councilwoman Herman and seconded by Councilman Cramer, the Town Board entered into execution session to discuss the employment history of a town personal and matters relating to collective negotiations under the Taylor Law. The executive session opened at 7:45pm

 

The Town Board went back into session at 8:41pm.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Resolution #709-2025 Authorize Town Clerk to advertise for Parttime Cleaner

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the position will remain open until filled; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Principal Account Clerk.

 

 

With no further business, on a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman, Supervisor Johnson closed the meeting at 8:55 pm.
