A Town Board meeting of the Town of Marion, Wayne County, NY was held on Monday, June 23, 2025 in the Marion Court Room.
Supervisor Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm with a roll call done by Heidi Levan, Town Clerk/Clerk of the Board.

Resolution #605-2025 Authorization to Accept the Hiring of 6 Summer Recreation Counselors and 1 Fill-In Counselor for 2025 Summer Recreation

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes the following individuals for 2025 for the Summer Recreation Camp Program Counselor Position for $15.50/hour to be appropriated from account 73101.01.000.256 SUMMER REC GRANT,

And Ava Schubert as a fill-in/floater for vacation days or missed days; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to all of the individuals listed above and the Principal Account Clerk.
Resolution #606-2025 Authorization to Accept the Hiring of Grace Colburn for the 2025 Summer Recreation Camp Program Head Counselor Position at the pay rate of $18.00 to be paid from the Youth Development Program Grant

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Grace Colburn and the Principal Account Clerk.
Resolution #607-2025 Authorize the Town Supervisor to sign the lease agreement between the Town of Marion and the Marion Public Library

The following resolution was approved.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes the Town of Marion Supervisor to sign the property lease agreement between the Marion Public Library and the Town of Marion; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the lease agreed payment of $1.00 for 30 years shall be paid to the Town of Marion prior to the execution of the agreement; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the lease agreement will go into effect on January 1, 2026 and end December 31, 2055; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Supervisor, and Code Enforcement office have a duty to inspect the property prior to the execution of such agreement; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Marion Public Library Board of Trustees, Marion Public Library Director, Marion Town Supervisor and the Principal Account Clerk.
Resolution # 608-2025 Authorize Watts Architects & Engineers Proposal #20-704D, Revision 1
On a motion by Councilman Lonneville and seconded by Councilman Cramer

The following resolution was approved.
BE IT RESOLVED, the Marion Town Board authorizes Town Supervisor, Summer Johnson to sign agreement with Watts Architects & Engineers for their Proposal #20-704D, Revision 1; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Marion did hold a public hearing on June 9, 2025 to spend Sewer Funds and;
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorize the payment of $4,792.00 to be made from the Sewer Reserve Fund 81304.007.0.042; and
BE IT FURTHUR RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Jeff Cragg, Marion Wastewater Treatment Plant Chief Operator; Marty Aman, Executive Director of the Wayne County Water & Sewer Authority, Bill Davis, MRB Group, Watts Architects & Engineers, and Principal Account Clerk, Kathy Cauwels.
Resolution #609-2025 Authorize Hiring Mural Mania for Bicentennial Mural
This resolution was tabled on a motion from Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board hiring of Mural Mania to design, construct and install mural for the Marion Bicentennial; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Marion did send out RFP’s for the project and Mural Mania was the only vendor to submit a proposal; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the total cost of this project is $4,490 and will be expensed out of account #75104.01.0.237
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to the Marion Bicentennial Committee, Mural Mania and Principal Account Clerk, Kathy Cauwels.
Resolution #610-2025 Payment of Claims
On a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman

The following resolution was approved.
WHEREAS, the Marion Town Board has received and audited the following claims; now
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized to pay said claims upon receipt of the signed abstracts of audited claims from the Town Clerk.

Executive Session: On a motion from Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman, the Town Board entered into execution session to discuss the employment history of a town personal. The executive session closed at 7:42pm
With no further business, on a motion by Councilman Cramer and seconded by Councilwoman Herman, Supervisor Johnson closed the meeting at 7:43pm.
