Absent:  Melanie Riveria, Marion Public Library Board of Trustee, Vice President

OTHERS IN ATTENDANCE: Adrienne Compton, Library and Town of Marion Staff member, Jennifer Williams.

Supervisor Johnson asked everyone to stand and give the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Marion Town Board and the Marion Public Library Board of Trustees attended a joint meeting in the Marion Public Library Community Room to discuss the Marion Public Library moving forward with a 414 Referendum.  This referendum would allow the Marion Public Library to have their budget approved by the residents in Marion and not the Marion Town Board.  This is something the Marion Public Library Board of Trustees has been working on for the last year.

This meeting discussed what this means for the Town of Marion budget for 2026.  The group also discussed the fact that a lease should be made between the Marion Public Library and the Town of Marion for the use of the Public Library building.

Lengthy discussions were held regarding the lease agreement.  Supervisor Johnson asked that  a few items to be changed.  Joanna Meyer will work on making changes to the lease and will email it back out to the boards for review.

With no further business, on a motion by Kerry Sargent and seconded by Councilman Cramer, Tracy Whitney closed the meeting at 8:12 pm.

Next meetings are scheduled for:

Meeting/Workshop:                   Monday, May 12, 2025 @ 6:30 pm
