Monday, May 2, 2022

A Town Board meeting of the Town of Marion, Wayne County, NY was held on Monday, May 2, 2022 at the Marion Municipal Room.

Supervisor Bender called the meeting to order at 8:00 am with a roll call done by Heidi Levan, Clerk of the Board.

PRESENT:                     Jolene Bender, Supervisor

LaVerne Bliek, Councilman

Ronald Lonneville, Councilman

Julie Herman, Councilwoman

Michael Cramer, Councilman

Absent:

IN PERSON ATTENDANCE:  None

Supervisor Bender asked everyone to stand and give the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Town Board met to discuss and pass the following resolution.  The Town of Marion is actively trying to secure a liquor license for the new Mexican restaurant in town.

Councilman Lonneville thanked Heidi Levan and Kim Williams for spending time at the Town Park on a Saturday to clean and organize the main pavilion.

Resolution #14172022 Authorize Request for Senator Helming and Assemblyman Manktelow with a liquor license for Casa Mexicana

 The following resolution was adopted

BE IT RESOLVED that the Marion Town Board would like New York State Senator, Pamela Helming and Assemblyman Brian Manktelow to introduce a bill to amend the alcoholic beverage control law and;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the bill would include the following information.

Section1. Subdivision 7 of section 64 of the alcoholic beverage control law is amended by adding a new paragraph to read as follows:

Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph of this subdivision, the authority may issue a retail license for on-premises consumption for a premises which shall be located within two hundred feet of a building occupied as a church, synagogue, or other place of worship, provided such premises constitute a premises for the sale of food or beverages at retail for consumption on the premises located wholly within the boundaries of the county of Wayne, bounded and described as follows:

All that certain parcel of land located just north of the intersection of North Main Street and Buffalo Street in the Town of Marion, Wayne County, New York and which aid parcel is more particularly bounded and described as follows:

The parcel is located at 3829 North Main Street, tax map ID # 543200-65114-12-849598.  The property is on .16 acres with a Global Positioning System (GPS) location 43.14365,-77.18897 which is 43°08’37.1″N 77°11’20.3″W.

This act shall take effect immediately.

With no further business, on a motion by Supervisor Bender and seconded by Councilwoman Herman, Supervisor Bender closed the meeting at 8:15am.
