A Town Board meeting of the Town of Marion, Wayne County, NY was held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at the Marion Municipal Room.
Supervisor Bender called the meeting to order at 3 pm with a roll call done by Heidi Levan, Clerk of the Board.

Ronald Lonneville, Councilman
Julie Herman, Councilwoman
Michael Cramer, Councilman
Absent: LaVerne Bliek, Councilman
IN PERSON ATTENDANCE: None
Supervisor Bender asked everyone to stand and give the Pledge of Allegiance.
Town Business:
Town Clerk, Heidi Levan presented the Tentative 2023 Budget.
Resolutions:

Resolution #9132022 Adopt Wayne County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan

The following resolution was adopted

Town Council
3823 North Main Street, Marion NY 14505
WHEREAS, Town of Marion, with the assistance from Bold Planning, has gathered information and prepared the Wayne County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Wayne County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan has been prepared in accordance with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000; and
WHEREAS, Town of Marion, is a local unit of government that has afforded the citizens an opportunity to comment and provide input in the Plan and the actions in the Plan; and
WHEREAS, Town of Marion, have reviewed the Plan and affirms that the Plan will be updated no less than every five years;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by Town Council that Town of Marion adopts the Wayne County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan as this jurisdiction’s Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan, and resolves to execute the actions in the Plan.
ADOPTED this 21st day of September 2022 at the meeting of the Town Council.

Resolution #9142022 Authorize Hiring of Code Enforcement Officer/Fire Marshall

The following resolution was adopted
BE IT RESOLVED, That the Marion Town Board approves hiring Daren Arrington, 5863 Arbor Road, Ontario, NY 14519 as Code Enforcement Officer according to the Civil Service job description/Fire Marshall effective September 27, 2022 for no more than 20 hours per week at remuneration of $25 per hour until he attends all required training by NYS. Once all training is complete his hourly rate will be $28 per hour. To be expended out of 80101.01.0.100; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board sets the Code Enforcement Officer/Fire Marshall work schedule to be determined by the Town Hall and Daren to be expended out of 80101.01.000.108; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Marion will supply a cell phone for the Code Enforcement/Fire Marshall to use and is the property of the Town of Marion; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Marion will supply a truck for the Code Enforcement/Fire Marshall to use and is the property of the Town of Marion; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that Daren Arrington will have a 6 month probationary period; and
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Marion authorizes the Clerk to the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Daren Arrington and the Principal Account Clerk.

WHEREAS, the Marion Town Board has received and audited the following claims: now
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized to pay said claims upon receipt of the signed abstracts of audited claims from the Town Clerk.
