MARION ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS MINUTES

July 31 2018

 

 

Time:  7:00pm.  Martha Rich called the meeting to order.

 

Present:  Martha Rich, Andrea Vandergrift and Zachary Bartlett

Absent:  Gregg Bell, John Lonneville, Michael Hershelman, and Daniel Sargent

 

7:00 pm – Martha asked the board if they had any comments or questions regarding the previous meeting minutes. No comments.

 

Andrea Vandergrift made a motion to approve the minutes from February 27, 2018. Zachary Bartlett seconded the motion. All in favor.   None opposed.  Motion carried.

 

New Business:  Martha Rich stated that is one item on tonight’s agenda.

 

7:01pm – Application A-1-18: Sam Creek – Requesting an area variance to build a lean to off west side of garage 3ft from property line at 3805 Walworth Marion Rd.

 

 

Mr. Creek stated he would like to build a lean-to off of his garage to keep his boat out of the weather.

 

7:05pm – Martha Rich read through the application.

 

Martha Rich and the board reviewed the Agricultural Data Statement, no significant findings or questions from the board.

 

7:06pm – Zachary Bartlett made a motion to approve the neighbor notification contingent that it is notarized within 5 days from the meeting date. Andrea Vandergrift seconded the motion. All in favor.   None opposed.  Motion carried.

 

 

7:07pm –Martha Rich opened the Public Hearing.

 

7:08pm –Martha Rich closed the Public Hearing as there were no members of the public with any comments.

 

7:09pm –Martha Rich reviewed the Area Variance worksheet with the Board, completed worksheet is available in applicants folder.

 

7:11pm – Martha Rich asked the board if they had any additional questions of comments

 

Zachary Bartlett asked:

How many walls the lean-to would have: Mr. Creek stated only one wall

Height of the lean-to: To the gables on the house

Drainage:  There is a drainage system set up on property so this will not affect drainage

 

 

7:13pmZachary Bartlett moved to approve the application build a lean to off west side of garage 3ft from property line at 3805 Walworth Marion Rd., contingent upon the neighbor notification being notarized. Andrea Vandergrift seconded the motion

 

 

7:13pm – All approved. None opposed. Motion carried Application A-1-18 approved.

 

7:14pm – No additional old business

 

7:11pmZachary Bartlett moved to adjourn the meeting.  Andrea Vandergrift seconded.  Meeting adjourned
