A workshop of the Town Board of the Town of Marion, Wayne County, NY was held on Monday, May 21, 2018 in the Marion Municipal Room.

 

Supervisor Deming called the meeting to order at 4pm.

 

PRESENT:    LaVerne Bliek, Councilman

Debbie Smith, Councilwoman

Joan Fisher, Councilwoman

Ronald Lonneville, Councilman

Nick Deming, Supervisor

 

ABSENT:   

 

OTHERS IN ATTENDANCE: Duane Smeatin, Code Enforcement Officer; Kathy Cauwels, Principal Account Clerk; Jarrod Crawford, Lyons National Bank; Shelly Conboy, Lyons National Bank; Michele Waeghe, Lyons National Bank.

 

Supervisor Deming asked for a Roll call.

Resolution #5232018 Receive and File all Correspondence/Reports for May 21, 2018

 

On a motion by Councilwoman Smith and seconded by Councilman Lonneville

The following resolution was adopted

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to receive and file all correspondence and reports for May 21, 2018.

 

Resolution #5242018 Authorize Hiring Jared DeLyser 2018 Night Park Supervisor For Summer Soccer Program

 

On a motion by Councilman Bliek and seconded by Councilwoman Fisher

 

ADOPTED:    Ayes: 5 Bliek, Smith, Lonneville, Fisher, Deming

Nays: 0

 

The following resolution was adopted

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes hiring Jared DeLyser, 5145 East Williamson Road, Marion, as the 2018 Night Park Supervisor for Summer Soccer Program at remuneration of $10.40 per hour to be appropriated from account 73101.1.0.082; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Jared Delyser, and the Principal Account Clerk.

 

Resolution #5252018 Authorize Hiring Jared DeLyser As 2018 Soccer Coordinator

 

On a motion by Councilman Lonneville and seconded by Councilwoman Fisher

 

ADOPTED:    Ayes: 5 Bliek, Smith, Lonneville, Fisher, Deming

Nays: 0

 

The following resolution was adopted

 

BE IT RESOLVED,  that the Marion Town Board authorizes hiring Jared DeLyser,  5145 East Williamson Road, Marion, as a Part-Time Seasonal Employee, 2018 Soccer Coordinator  appropriated from  Account 73101.1.0.191 at remuneration of $1600.00/year from May 21 – August 11, 2018 (12 weeks) (Season: July 5 thru August 11); and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Jared DeLyser, the Highway Superintendent, and the Principal Account Clerk.

 

Resolution #5262018 Authorize Lyons National Bank as Town of Marion Financial Institution

 

On a motion by Councilman Lonneville and seconded by Councilman Bliek

The following resolution was adopted

 

BE IT RESOLVED,  that the Marion Town Board authorizes Lyons National Bank to draw up contracts for the supervisor to sign as M & T Bank will be closing its doors as of September 19, 2018,; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Lyons National Bank and the Principal Account Clerk.

 

Resolution #5272018 Install Cameras at Marion Town Park

 

On a motion by Councilman Lonneville and seconded by Councilwoman Fisher

The following resolution was adopted

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes Supervisor Deming to purchase and install cameras at the entrance to the Marion Town Park and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Supervisor Deming and the Principal Account Clerk

 

Resolution #5282018 Authorize Bovet Landscaping for mowing

 

On a motion by Councilman Lonneville and seconded by Councilman Bliek

 

ADOPTED:    Ayes: 5 Bliek, Smith, Lonneville, Fisher, Deming

Nays: 0

 

The following resolution was adopted

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes John Bovet from Bovet Landscaping to mow properties that are in violation of the Property Nuisance Abatement Law # 2-2017.

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Bovet Landscaping and the Principal Account Clerk

 

Resolution #5292018 Authorize Supervisor to sign WWTP MOU

 

On a motion by Councilman Lonneville and seconded by Councilman Bliek

 

ADOPTED:    Ayes: 5 Bliek, Smith, Lonneville, Fisher, Deming

Nays: 0

 

The following resolution was adopted

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board authorizes Supervisor Deming to sign the Memorandum of Understanding regarding the Wayne County Water & Sewer Authority 2018 Western Regional Waste Water Treatment System Improvements Project, under the direction of the Town Attorney.

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marion Town Board directs the Clerk of the Board to give a copy of this resolution to Supervisor Deming; Wayne County Water Sewer Authority;  Dave Doyle, MRB;  Art Williams, Town Attorney and the Principal Account Clerk.

 

 

The Town Board went into Executive Session from 4:45pm – 5pm

 

With no further business, on a motion by Councilman Lonneville and seconded by Councilwoman Smith, Supervisor Deming closed the meeting at 5:50pm
