A Public Hearing was held at Marion Municipal Room, 3827 North Main Street, Marion, NY on the 10th of October, 2016 at 7:03pm for the purpose of hearing all persons for or against amending the sewer ordinance. Supervisor Deyo stated the change will be effective January 1, 2017 as follows:

$42.00 sewer unit charge
$17.00 minimum charge for the1st 3,000 gallons used
$ 4.05 per thousand gallons thereafter

Jeff Cragg, Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator, stated the change reflects $1.00 increase in the sewer unit charge, $1.00 increase minimum charge for 3,000 gallons and
$ .10 increase per thousand as metered.

Supervisor Deyo opened the floor. Perry Howland, reporter for the Sun and Record, asked how we monitor sewer usage. Jeff Cragg stated it is based on water usage. Supervisor Deyo stated if residents on sewer fill a pool, they should fill out a form in the Town Clerk’s Office and they will receive a credit on their next quarterly sewer bill.

Councilman Fonte asked when the last increase was. Jeff Cragg stated it was 2014. Supervisor Deyo stated it is the only way to raise money for the sewer plant.

With no one from the public in attendance and no further questions or comments, Supervisor Deyo closed the Public Hearing at 7:07pm.
